We value every client and trade partner relationship we have established over the years. Below is just a sample of what people have to say about building with American Eagle Builders.
Homeowner Testimonials - Net Zero Home Building With ARH
Meredith and Mark Dornenburg
Five Stars to Arthur Rutenberg Homes for our newly built home at The Cliffs at Keowee Springs. Our home was built in record time (7.5 months) and was completed a month ahead of schedule. The punch list was nominal. The Builder delivered what they promised or better. Quality of the build, materials, finishes and appliances was impeccable. Communication couldn’t have been better. And…all this was accomplished long distance. We have done small projects in the past like remodeling a bathroom that had 100x the stress of building this home with American Eagle Builders. Our thanks to Calum, Brandon, Brad, Bruce, Roxanne, Lisa and Mindy for a wonderful building experience. The whole process was elevated to the next level because of each of you.
“Building a home is never an easy task, and selecting the right builder is so important. After initially discussing home construction with several builders, we selected Arthur Rutenberg American Eagle primarily due to initial conversations with Bruce Pasquarella and Calum MacKenzie. They were both very helpful as we moved through the initial sales process. Calum was attentive and accommodating; we visited several models and homes under construction with him to get a first hand perspective of their quality and attention to detail. Once we made the decision to use American Eagle, we began to work with their staff to assist with everything from home style, to placement of the home on the lot, to interior selections, timing, etc. We worked closely with Brandon Eich and Brad Wolthuis and we found them both to be very knowledgeable about home construction in general and extremely helpful. They demonstrated flexibility, especially as we made changes to the house and floor plan; they had very good suggestions pertaining to improving the plan; and we were also pleased with their estimate of the home completion date. We will not forget that at least 6 months prior to the finish date, Brandon told us that we would have the home closed on or before Debbie’s birthday—and guess what—we moved in on her birthday! This made life easier and more predictable for us—and we were very grateful for their foresight and ability to manage the construction process and contractors to achieve that date. We also visited the design center in Charlotte to make our selections, and Mindy and Angeline were always helpful and professional. Their advice was invaluable.
We have been in the house for about a year, and the pre-construction, construction and post-construction phases were managed well. We have been very pleased with their follow up and attentiveness to various punch list items that have come up. We have built other homes in the past and this experience ranks amongst the best, and we are thankful for the Arthur Rutenberg American Eagle team for helping us through this process and building our beautiful home in the mountains.”
We built the Keystone plan in the Cliffs at Keowee Springs. The house was completed in June. We had a really positive experience with American Eagle. Our project manager and construction manager were both outstanding. Very early in the process it was clear they had our best interest in mind. The last house we built was a complete custom project. We felt like we had to be on-site all the time to make sure things were done correctly. Often it was an argument when things weren’t done correctly and needed to be fixed. It was a completely different experience with American Eagle. Almost every time we noticed something wrong it was already on their list of things to address. While frustrating at times if things weren’t done correctly the first time, we never had any doubt they would fix it and fix it to our satisfaction. It was great to have that piece of mind during the building process. This is our fourth house we’ve built and the only time it was a stress free experience.
We also enjoyed the Arthur Rutenberg process. In speaking to others who have recently built in the area here are some of the key differences:
1) Architectural services – We were pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to customize the plan. Not only that, but the price to do so was very reasonable. I don’t think there was any cost for the architectural services to do so. We converted a billiards room to a bedroom and made a storage area smaller to accommodate an ensuite bath and a wine cellar. It is surprising how little that costs compared to the value it added to the house.
2) Up front planning – By the time we were ready to start the build it was almost overwhelming how much detail we had about all of the specifications and options. That’s not to say there weren’t a few surprises during the build, but the cause was simply we missed what was clearly spelled out in the plans.
3) Ability to see the same or similar plans being built – We originally didn’t love the plan we selected, but thought it was a great value. We originally made significant changes to the first floor. We had the opportunity to walk through a house that was under construction in Asheville and realized the original plan was better than the changes we were contemplating. Also as we walked through the house we really fell in love with the plan. We just couldn’t appreciate how dramatic the vaulted ceilings and views were until we walked through it.
We highly recommend American Eagle. We ended up with a house we love at an exceptional value. The quality of the construction is on par with the most expensive builders in the area.

“We would like to share our sincere appreciation and excitement for our new home! We are so happy with the result and wanted to thank you for making this an enjoyable and satisfying adventure. Your planning process made everything easy to manage and lessened the amount of stress that goes into building a custom home.
Bruce, you were always on top of everything and never failed to return our calls quickly. Your “take charge” attitude gave us the confidence that things would not only be done right, but also on time. We know that we had a couple of “unique” items that went into this house (hello window frames and cat door!), but they turned out just as we had hoped and really made this house into Our Home.
Nicole was amazing throughout this whole process. She was always quick to get back to us with anything that we needed, and usually did so before we could even get the chance to ask. Her organization and preparation are second to none, and again, made everything so much easier on us.
Our experience with American Eagle Builders, Inc. was an incredibly happy and satisfying one. We are so appreciative of how successful this whole process was and look forward to continuing our friendship.”
With sincere appreciation.
“George and I had just gotten married and decided to take on the huge project of building our Dream Home. We knew it would be a daunting task and we’d been given lots of sound advice about making sure you choose a builder you can talk to; one that would pay attention to the details; one that would actually be part of the process rather than orchestrating from another site or an office somewhere far away from your new address.
That’s exactly what we found in American Eagle Builders. Bruce Pasquarella and his team were organized and detailed, and we felt that they were as proud of our new home as we were through every stage of the process.
Many times, Bruce would come to us with suggestions on how to improve the plan, whether it be a niche in the kitchen to showcase a wine cooler we received as a wedding gift, or handcrafted columns and corbels in the dining room. It was comforting that as George and I were noses-deep in the blueprints, Bruce would recommend such details that didn’t add a lot of cost to the bottom line but are really noticeable assets to our home.”

“Yesterday we met with you, your contractors and my in-laws, Rollie and MacClaire Franzen. It was an exhausting day for them, but we felt so much was accomplished.
From our early meetings with Dianne, Lee and of course you, to yesterday with Chris, Mike, Andrew and Shane – this entire process to date has been professional, easy and pleasant! Steve’s attention to every detail yesterday was such a welcome change to what we have dealt with in the past and our meeting with Wanda was like having lunch with an old friend.
In short, you have created a network of people that are a true pleasure to work with and a company I would gladly and without reservation recommend to anyone. Mr. Anthony should be proud and honored to have you.
I know we are not finished yet, and I am sure things will arise that will need attention, but it is comforting to know that when that happens we have confidence in knowing you will come up with the solution.
Thanks again not only for your professionalism, but for your kindness”

We Go The Extra Mile For Every Home Owner. It’s Not Just Talk, It’s The Arthur Rutenberg Homes Difference!
We are building in the Cliffs at Mountain Park. When we were in the process of selecting a lot (prior to selecting a builder), Bruce took his time to visit several lots with me to give me his input as to grading and foundation costs for each lot. This was very helpful in making a decision regarding the lot. Once we selected American Eagle to build for us the experience has been great. We currently live in Raleigh so having trust and confidence in the builder and the on-site people is critical since we can’t be involved on a day to day basis. I have been able to visit the site every few weeks and have been pleased with the quality of work and attention to detail. Again, trust is important when you can’t see what goes on on a day to day basis, and I have complete trust in Dean Sibley who has been on site from the beginning.
The materials selection process has also been a good experience. Roxanne has been excellent in tracking selections and change orders.
We are about 4 weeks from completion and I have nothing but good things to say about our experience.
“We enjoy any chance we get to let people know about our experience with American Eagle Builders and with Bruce Pasquarella.
We, like most people, had heard the horror stories about how the building experience and the constant battles with your builder can be an uncomfortable drain on your life. We are from the area and for more than a year, took the time to walk through, inspect, and make mental notes on countless custom homes.
When we came upon Bruce’s work, we were impressed mainly with the very obvious concern in detail and the quality. Deciding to use him for our home building experience was one of our best decisions. From the very first day, we felt that Bruce made our home his very own. You could see that he took great pride in quality craftsmanship, and I never felt that he had lost touch with the project. We are very much detail focused and enjoyed being involved in every aspect of the building process.
Bruce had a very organized approach and would let us know dates for each decision he would need . This allowed us to look ahead and fight out our choices (before agreeing to compromise on my wife’s choice). The time line certainly helped (because sometimes it took me longer to agree on her choice!)
Like all building projects there were bumps in the road but Bruce would always bring up the problems with possible solutions close behind. You could tell that he had already approached the problem as if it were his own, many times to our financial benefit. What we ended up with was a house that we are very proud of and feel that we had a large part in planning and building.
If I had to sum it up in one thought, it would be that being born and raised in this area and planning to live and raise our family here, we do not take lightly making recommendations to others in the very important matter of chosing a custom home builder. That being said, we would recommend Bruce to our family and friends with no reservations.
Thank you for an enjoyable experience Bruce, and best of luck to you and everyone at American Eagle Builders!”

“We highly recommend Bruce Pasquerella and his Team as a luxury home builder. After engaging several local builders in the interview process to build our home at The Cliffs at Mountain Park, it was very clear that Bruce met our parameters for a very high quality product at a reasonable price.
The process from design, construction and completion was easy and more importantly, enjoyable – valuable counsel throughout selection, minimal haggling, and great service post construction.
“Exceeded Expectations” – client experience and finished product. We take great pride in showing our new home to others.”

“After meeting with several Greenville, SC builders we chose Bruce Pasquarella to build our home in River Reserve, Piedmont. When we visited the Somerset model in Claremont we knew this was the house plan we wanted but we had not found a lot that met our wish list. Jill and JoAnne, model sales representatives were very helpful. Bruce personally introduced us to River Reserve and we quickly purchased a lot. This will be our seventh new home.
I cannot say enough positive things about Bruce and his team. They have been very responsive, professional and honest. For example, we have been working with a pool company and asked them to design a pool house and outdoor kitchen. They didn’t respond on a timely basis and Bruce quickly offered the services of ARH architects in Charlotte. Within days we had a great plan from Michael Garrison and a reasonable quote from Matthew Bostick to add this component to the construction of the home.
Earlier this week we had the pleasure of working for two days with Angeline Rudnick at the Charlotte Design Center where we picked out our selections. In advance my wife Kathy populated our Pinterest account with photos of designs, colors and materials we favored. Angeline reviewed these prior to our meeting so that she could appreciate our preferences. Nicole Frasier from the Greenville office assisted Angeline. Brittany Pillion participated in interior furnishings discussions and was most helpful. Angeline is an extremely talented interior designer. Her guidance and opinion proved invaluable to us as we methodically made a myriad of selections. We not only got the job completed within two days, we had a lot of laughs in the process. The ARH contract/quote and selection processes are the most impressive, coordinated system we have ever experienced.
ARH is fortunate to have a conscientious, professional team led by Bruce, as part of your network. This should prove be a very successful and rewarding symbiotic relationship. We hope to start site work later next week.”
